Charles & Charles Rose

The weather is getting hotter and there is nothing like a delicious rose to add some chill to the long dog days of summer.  The 2011 Charles and Charles Rose is made from 100% Syrah and is produced in Columbia Valley, Washington.  The Charles and Charles Rose is the collaboration of Charles Smith and Charles Bieler two self proclaimed bad asses of wine making.  Ever seen the stickers that say, "Yes, you can drink rose and still be a bad ass."? Yep, that is them!  This wine is sealed with a screw top and has an alcohol level of 13%.

This wine is a dark pink color.  On the nose are hints of white peach, wild strawberry, pear skin, fresh cut watermelon, ripe cherry, wet river stone, white pepper, and white blossoms.  The palate has big bold flavors of strawberry, watermelon, vanilla cream soda, over ripe raspberry, cinnamon, peach blossom, and fresh peach.  Overall, one of my absolute FAVORITE roses that I will be drinking more than once during the hot upcoming summer months!
