Stoneleigh Sauvignon Blanc

After reviewing my wine blog, I began to realize that I lack any wine from New Zealand! I couldn't believe it considering New Zealand produces some wonderful wines! So I fixed the problem quick by grabbing a bottle of Stoneleigh Sauvignon Blanc. The 2008 Stoneleigh Sauvignon Blanc is produced in Marlborough on the northern side of the Wairau Valley, which is in close proximity to Marlborough’s main river, the Wairau River. This wine had a 13.0% alcohol level and was sealed with a natural cork.

The Stoneleigh Sauvignon Blanc had a pale golden color with green hues. On the nose were hints of white apricot, white pear, green apple skins, fresh, cut melon, nectarines, green bell pepper, cilantro, limestone, and wet earth. On the palate were notes of rosemary, pineapple, banana, orange, lime, lemon, grapefruit, above ground dirt, mushrooms, and japaleno. This Sauvignon Blanc had bright acidity with a lengthy finish. Overall, a very refreshing white wine.
